Bio Cabinets supply the SAFE FLOW Micro Biological Safety Cabinets and other related laboratory equipment products throughout Australia.

The Bio Cabinets SAFE FLOW Micro Biological Safety Cabinet Class II Type A/B3 convertible is designed for the highest operator, environmental and product protection.

SAFE FLOW Micro Biological Safety Cabinet Features:

  • Designed to fully comply with the main European standards including BS5726, DIN 12950 Teil 10, IEC 66.5 and EN 12469 - 2000 (KI Discus)
  • Dual skin configuration (negative pressure contaminated air plenums surrounding the work chamber) for the highest safety
  • Cabinet outer surfaces made of rolled steel with paint finish
  • Stainless steel plenum
  • Inner chamber made from Grade 3 stainless steel with radiussed corners and full access to exposed surfaces for ease of cleaning
  • Removable work surface (split into three parts for easy steam steralisation in autoclave) made from Grade 3 stainless steel with perforated work surface
  • Unique Grade 3 stainless steel sump for the easiest clean ability
  • Electronic control system incorporating soft-touch keyboard, bar-graph monitor, elapsed time meter and audible/visible alarms
  • Three sizes to satisfy all applications
  • Exhaust Activated Carbon filter option

Operating in Type A configuration the air leaving the main HEPA filter at a constant speed produces a laminar down flow Class 100 environment An air barrier enters through the front opening and is mixed with the down flow air underneath the work surface. 70% of the air is recirculated, 30% is ducted to the port on top of the unit.

In Type B configuration a secondary exhaust HEPA can be retrofitted to allow recirculation in the laboratory as prescribed in BS5726. The basic operating principle is the same but the unit is ducted to the outside of the laboratory and the barrier speed is increased to 0.5m/sec.
